Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Sunil Kumar Jha, former director of Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), and Anand Singh, an inspector in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), for their alleged involvement in coal smuggling.
The arrest of Singh marks the first time a CISF officer has been arrested in a coal smuggling case. The CBI presented the accused before the Asansol CBI Court and took them into custody.
The agency has filed charge sheets against 41 individuals in connection with the case. The investigation is still ongoing.
